Mel and Joy's big day was a perfect blend of ancient cultures, Irish and Chinese. Family flew in to Cabra Castle in Ireland from China, Malaysia and Thailand. Mel and Joy have such a stunning sense of style and fun. The detail and ingenuity of their day was so carefully considered. Mel's suit was specially designed, with a leaning towards a traditional Chinese gentleman's bridegroom jacket.
We discussed how to reflect both cultures in the ceremony and used the Celtic traditions of handfasting while also incorporating the ancient Chinese Tea ceremony.
I incorporated both ancient Chinese rituals into this wedding. This is the ancient tea ceremony. The bride and groom serve tea to their parents as a symbol of respect and thanks to be joined together as family.
